Entrepreneurship and Business

Entrepreneurship is a key driver to our economy in Washington DC. From entrepreneurship, employment, social innovation, and community development are all cultivated. Councilmember White support local business owners. During this council period, Councilmember White has introduced and co-introduced the following legislation:

• Inclusive Entrepreneurship Act of 2017 - this bill requires the Mayor to establish a program in the Department of Small Business and Local Development ("Department") to provide competitive grants to eligible applicants for the establishment of business incubators serving Ward 7 and Ward 8 businesses and entrepreneurs. It requires the Department to prepare a report and conduct an evaluation of each business annually to determine ongoing eligibility.
